These include, but are not limited to, the Corporations Act, Income Tax Assessment Act as well as certain regulations issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and any applicable legislation covering the provision of software services and the sale of hardware products.
In addition, our ability to provide you with comprehensive and quality services is reliant on us obtaining certain personal information about you.

Personal details e.g. name, address, contact details (phone, email, etc), emergency contact details, date of birth, marital status, and credit card information.
Salon Hand may collect your personal information in the following ways:
When you register for or update an existing profile on our web sites or Apps;
When you use certain interactive tools and services;
When you sign-up for newsletters or other communications from Salon Hand;
When you participate in an online survey;
When you provide personal information in a community area or other public forum;
When you purchase a Salon Hand software subscription; and/or
When you purchase hardware to support your Salon Hand system.
If you do not provide us with the information required, Salon Hand may not be able to provide the services or products that are required for our dealings with you and Salon Hand may therefore have to elect to terminate our relationship with you, if Salon Hand believe it will jeopardise our ability to provide you with a complete, accurate and comprehensive service.
Salon Hand will not collect any personal information about you except when you have knowingly provided that information to us or authorised a third party to provide that information to us. Information will be collected from a variety of sources including directly from you, external organisations and associated companies of Salon Hand. Salon Hand only collect, maintain and use personal and sensitive information about you if it is necessary for us to adequately provide the services requested.
Cookies
Where possible Salon Hand collects your personal information directly from you. Salon Hand also uses Cookies to collect personal information. A 'cookie' is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies do not damage your computer. Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. You can decide if you want to accept cookies by changing the settings on your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. The Salon Hand website uses cookies to assign identification to your individual browser. This identifies your browser – but not you – to our servers every time you visit our network. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to find out the identity of any user.
Unless you voluntarily advise us, the Salon Hand website will never know who you are, even though Salon Hand assigns your browser a cookie. The information gathered through the use of cookies, allows Salon Hand to offer a quality Internet service and easily accessible online content to our users, and catalogue traffic patterns throughout the network in a manner that provides personal privacy protection. Salon Hand also keeps track of your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information about you, such as your location and your Internet Service Provider.
The Salon Hand Web Site may also collect and aggregate information on how our users are utilising the site. This might include information regarding traffic patterns through the sites.
Other organisations that place advertising on our network also have the ability to assign a different cookie to your browser in a process that Salon Hand does not control. Again, unless you voluntarily advise them, these advertisers will also never know who you are.
Web Beacons
"Web Beacons" are graphic image files imbedded in a web page typically used to monitor activity on a web page and send back to its home server (which can belong to the host site, a network advertiser or some other third party) information from your browser, such as the IP address, the URL of the page on which the beacon is located, the type browser that is accessing the site and the ID number of any Cookies on your computer previously placed by that server.
Third parties under contract with Salon Hand may use Web Beacons to collect Non-Personal Information about your usage of the Salon Hand site, including which topics you have viewed. These third party advertising service providers may use this information, on our behalf, to help Salon Hand deliver advertising on the Salon Hand website, as well as on other sites on the Internet based on your browsing activity on our sites.
Mobile Device Applications ("Apps") and Mobile Optimized Sites
When you download and install one of our Salon Hand Apps onto your mobile device we assign a random number to your App installation. This number cannot be used to identify you personally, and we cannot identify you personally unless you choose to become a registered user of the App. We use this random number in a manner similar to our use of Cookies as described in this Privacy Policy. Unlike Cookies, the random number is assigned to your installation of the App itself and not a browser, because the App does not work through your browser. Therefore the random number cannot be removed through settings. If you do not want us to use the random number for the purposes for which we use Cookies, please do not use the Mobile Device Apps. Because some of the content on our Mobile Device Apps direct your mobile device to our website you will be exposed to the cookies that we use and to third party cookies that may be contained in advertisements that we do not control and will be unable to delete any of these cookies with your mobile device. Therefore, if you do not want to use these cookies when you use your mobile device you should not use our Mobile Device Apps and you should set your mobile device to reject cookies when you use our mobile optimized sites.
